Welcome to "The Shadow of the Bear" movie blog!

We are an independant young adult-run production based in the U.S. Midwest. The film has been in pre-production since summer 2008, and wrapped up filming on August 26th, 2010.

We premiered the project on June 23rd, 2011 at the St. Anthony Main Theater in Minneapolis, MN to a delighted audience of over 100 viewers.

HARD DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I just arrived back from ReginaCon2010 (which was a blast, BTW, check it out on my blog at www.elenatintil.blogspot.com) and found a much anticipated package waiting for me! Thanks to the generosity of fan Maria J. and her father, the SOTB film is now in possession of an external hard drive with... yes, ONE TERABYTE of space! (Remember when I said the only way we were getting that much space was if someone gave us one? well....)

Anyhow, major shout of thanks to Maria for doing this for us! It's a huge help towards moving the project forwards and a major encouragement. Thank you Maria! :)

Scheduling again... and some script news

I just mapped out the conflicts on a calendar for July and August... There is hardly a single day that we don't have someone with some sort of conflict. Somehow I have to pull ten filming days out of this muddle... prayers would be more than wonderful!

Because of this limited time, I've had to look over the remaining scenes and decide what we absolutely needed, and what could be cut. I want to warn you all right now that the thrift store scene has to go. I'm very sad, but we all (Regina included) agree that with the time we have left, there are other much more important pieces to get done. I know some of you will be quite disappointed, but I hope you can understand that it was a necessary decision.

Our deadline is the end of August. We absolutely cannot ask our actors to film past that. So please, please pray that God will protect everyone's health and schedules so that we are able to get this project done at last!

Editing Update

Quick Editing update -

We got another scene finished tonight, which I was able to watch on a HUGE screen that felt like a movie theatre. It was pretty awesome.

I can now announce that I will be showing two short, rough clips at REGINACON next week. So if you're planning to go to that, you have a treat in store for you!
