I realize that any suggestions made are entirely subject to what works artistically, what is available, cost, etc, but I do have a suggestion to make for the opera scene. I take it that if you include an interior scene, it would not actually show the "Nozze di Figaro" being performed onstage. That would definitely put a dent in your bank account. :) If however, you do include the scene (likely by just showing the characters watching the opera while playing the sound), you might want to consider which song(s) they'll be watching. As a fan of the opera, may I suggest one of these:

1. Non Piu Andrai - Probably the most predictable suggestion. It's the most well known song from the opera, it's sung by Figaro himself, and it's catchy and accessible. most people like the sound of it, and there are hundreds of quality recordings of this favourite. No actual connection between the song and the story, but...

2. Voi Che Sapete. Cherubino tries to discover whether he's in love or not, musing on it. This song is another well-known one, and ties very well in Blanche and Bear's situation later on - although they are rather more mature than Cherubino.

3. Crudel, Perche Finora Farmi Languir Cosi? This is a duet between the Count and Susanna - and, as we know, Rose and Bear specifically single out Susanna as the best character in it. If you use it, use the later part of the song. The harmonies are amazing. It is also a song in which the count asks Susanna to meet him in a secret place, which might very well tie in with the next scene.

OK, this is crazy, but i thought I'd mention it. Do disregard! :)

- Your sister, AutumnRoseAutumnRosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06066810487615064947noreply@blogger.com
