Editing Report - Day 2 - April 14th '09

Yesterday I got together with Phil (our Editor) and Eric (our Cinematographer) to work through the footage we shot on Saturday.

First off I had to say, I was thrilled with the quality of the image on the big screen. Saturday had been so sunny, that the camera viewer had been nearly obscured by glare, so unless I was filming myself (I did about three differant shots, multiple takes) I really couldn't see what was being filmed. Anyhow, I loved what we shot - the images are so beautiful, I can't wait to get them into a trailer or something for all of you.

We spent about five hours editing together the footage from Saturday. It begins with Rose walking into the park, she plays her violin, talks with Fish, and ends with Rose walking away. This is about three pages in the script, so it should have been about three minutes, but interestingly enough, the violin solo stretched it out into nearly five.

Phil did a great job of pulling together five differant angles from over 20 takes and assembling them into the scene. Because it was shot outside, we will have to re-record the dialogue, and then there will be sound effects and music, but visually it is pretty much finished. The lighting is so consistant, that we may not even have to do much for color correction.
