Welcome to "The Shadow of the Bear" movie blog!

We are an independant young adult-run production based in the U.S. Midwest. The film has been in pre-production since summer 2008, and wrapped up filming on August 26th, 2010.

We premiered the project on June 23rd, 2011 at the St. Anthony Main Theater in Minneapolis, MN to a delighted audience of over 100 viewers.

Scheduling again... and some script news

I just mapped out the conflicts on a calendar for July and August... There is hardly a single day that we don't have someone with some sort of conflict. Somehow I have to pull ten filming days out of this muddle... prayers would be more than wonderful!

Because of this limited time, I've had to look over the remaining scenes and decide what we absolutely needed, and what could be cut. I want to warn you all right now that the thrift store scene has to go. I'm very sad, but we all (Regina included) agree that with the time we have left, there are other much more important pieces to get done. I know some of you will be quite disappointed, but I hope you can understand that it was a necessary decision.

Our deadline is the end of August. We absolutely cannot ask our actors to film past that. So please, please pray that God will protect everyone's health and schedules so that we are able to get this project done at last!

Question: Will there be a deleted scenes section, and if so will the thrift store scene be included? I think all of us want to see the blue cookie monster sweater. ;) :P

No Vicki, we don't have time to film the scene at all - that's the reason why it won't make it into the film. I'm very sorry, but unless someone decides to pay the actors, I can't possibly get them for any longer.

I'm sorry that you won't be able to put in the thrift store scene - it's one of my favorites. I hope that the rest of your filming will be very productive, though, and I look forward to seeing the movie!
