Honestly because there has been nothing to report. Every time I think about posting, I realize that all I have to say is... "Sorry guys. No news about the DVD release yet."
I know. The wait is longer than any of us expected. But stuff happens and Regina and her family are working really hard on a lot of stuff right now (they just took over publishing the John Paul 2 High books). I've been through surgery and major personal stuff including the ongoing battle with my health.
However I've gotten through the most intense phase and from now on I'm really going to try and post at least once a month, even if it's just to say that I don't have a whole lot to say.
Actually that's not entirely true... I do have one fun little piece of news. Are any of you Tumblrs? You should check out the new Regina Doman/Fairy Tale Novels themed tumblr! It's pretty cool actually for there to be something like that run by neither myself nor Regina... but anyhow the blog owner is looking for submissions and stuff so go on over and check it out if you're in a tumblring mood.
(Oh, and I also have a personal tumblr where you'll find all the cool pictures and humor and short anecdotes and quotes that I come across but aren't big enough for a full post on my blog. Check it out at www.elenatintil.tumblr.com)
Welcome to "The Shadow of the Bear" movie blog!
We are an independant young adult-run production based in the U.S. Midwest. The film has been in pre-production since summer 2008, and wrapped up filming on August 26th, 2010.
We premiered the project on June 23rd, 2011 at the St. Anthony Main Theater in Minneapolis, MN to a delighted audience of over 100 viewers.

I have a Tumblr!!! :)
Yay! If you end up following me, let me know you're a FTN fan who found me via the SOTB blog! :)
That's OK. Maybe you could post some photos or stuff? If not, that's fine too. Just wanted to let you know, this blog TOTALLY got me started on The Shadow of the Bear. My mom and both my 6 year old brother and my 10 year old brother are hooked as well. And we have the audio drama of SotB on my MP3 as well. Now if I can get an audio connection cable to hook it up to my boom-box... Anyway, if you do post photos, do you have any from the "get your paws off me, big brother" scene? BIG favorite around here. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Our photographer for that day arrived late so I don't believe we have any actual photos... but I may be able to get some stills. Let me check!
That would be AMAZING if you do! One of my brothers thinks SotB's boring(no, he's not insane) but one of the few scenes he likes is that one.
Yes, I agree pictures would be fantastic! Stills would be great, too. =)
Although I was disappointed to see Christmas come and go without the DVD release, I was so happy to see your post.
Perhaps you could give us a general idea of when we can expect to see the DVD? Do you see the wait being for more than a month? Or are we looking at another year? Being an obsessed fan of both the FTN's and self-produced films, I would like to know when the DVD will be out so that I am not filled with anxious anticipation every time I check the blog. This book is so terrific! I can't wait to see it brought to life, but if I'm given a release date maybe I can. =)
Thank you for posting, and for promising to post once a month. Even if you have nothing new to tell, no news is good news. Hope to hear from you soon. God bless.
Honestly I really have no idea. Regina is in charge of the final Post Production so if you really want an answer to that question, I would recommend e-mailing her personally and asking.
Thanks for the update.
I hope you feel better soon.
God bless and Merry Christmas!
what's regina's email?
thanks for the update!

Cant wait!!!!
Get well soon:)
Just 2 Questions:
Does Blanche play Moonlight Sonata on the piano?
Do you have the part where after the prom, the fight in the streets?
THANKS so much for doing this! God Bless!
