Welcome to "The Shadow of the Bear" movie blog!

We are an independant young adult-run production based in the U.S. Midwest. The film has been in pre-production since summer 2008, and wrapped up filming on August 26th, 2010.

We premiered the project on June 23rd, 2011 at the St. Anthony Main Theater in Minneapolis, MN to a delighted audience of over 100 viewers.

The Premiere

And now at long last, the news you've been waiting for... how was the premiere?

Wonderful.

We had over 100 attendees who were extremely positive about the film and by the general sounds of laughter during the screening seemed to enjoy it a lot.

I had a crazy, awesome time and was thrilled to see my work at last on the big screen. I only wish ALL of you could have been there!

But, since that wasn't possible, I instead am going to share with you some of the best photos of the night. Thanks to Hannah and Amanda for giving me permission to use them!

Lastly I know you all are about to ask...

The DVD will be coming out later this year. Regina herself is taking over coordinating the final polishing work so that I can focus on college. This means we could see the DVD anywhere between September and Christmas. However I no longer have control or the responsibility to worry about that timing, for which I am immensely grateful. When I have a date I will of course post it here immediately, but it may not be for awhile.

It looks like everyone had a really wonderful time. I'm so happy for you all. It would have been wonderful to be there, but since I couldn't, I'm thankful for the pictures.

Anthony said it was a great night and he had a great time. I keep pumping him for more info, but the guy is such a... guy! It's hard to get the juicy details. :D

Congratulations!

And I was there :)
The movie was totally awesome. I can't wait to see the whole thing when it's all polished up! Hooray for Regina taking over that job! That's going to be a lot of work though, so fellow fans, we need to keep praying!

Wonderful movie. Very close to the book. In short: AWESOME!

I don't see any pictures of Jed. Did he get a chance to go to the premiere? :/

Thank you so much for all your efforts in making this film for all the SOTB fans of the nation. This story is one that needs to be shared, I believe, and some people are just not book-readers. But they may be movie-watchers, so the story will be able to spread in that medium. Plus, it will be an amazing experience to watch before my eyes a story that had thus far been staged in my mind...
Thanks a million. I can't wait to possess the DVD!!!

I just discovered and read Shadow of the Bear three weeks ago and fell head over heels in love with the story. I found out about the movie shortly afterwards and (since I am a very impatient person :) ) am thrilled and can not wait until the DVD comes out! I just wanted to thank you and the cast and crew for putting all that time and effort into turning this awesome book into an incredible movie! Thank you all sooooooooo much and God bless you all!!!!!!!

I'm really glad that Fish is like the Catholic version of Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp is cool, but I'm not into the whole pirate thing.
