About how long did it take for you to get yours? (can't wait!!!)

Oh my gosh, I feel sad for the people who have or will read the book in the future, and don't know about this project, and don't get the movie! :( (I'm so lucky:). I ordered three copies just in case I meet like a fan! LOL Sooooooooooo excited!

Una - 3 or 4 shipping days? I got mine earlier, they said they'd mail the rest out this week.

Ana - that is so awesome of you! Yeah, I feel the same, but maybe by then some studio with a big budget will be able to make a version that hits the movie theaters?

What you have done is good enough for me. No big, popular studio will ever do it better!!!!!!!!!
(No offense, Hollywood:).

I LOVED THE FILM!!!

Mine arrived today and I started it not twenty minutes after opening it. :D I finished it about 25 minutes ago, and just had to post. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything. 'Twas not a "finished product", no, but it was good enough for a Fairy Tale Novel fanatic who much enjoyed seeing one of her favorite books ever brought to life. Now, I must vaunt to my friends the fact that it is indeed within my possession....and then invite them over to watch it. :) I might do it up big and throw a "party" or something...who knows? My SOTB high will last for a little while yet--I'd better get planning.

Thank you again! The experience was amazing...

With Love,
Marie J.

Anon - if you've already ordered yours, they should arrive in the next week or so as I understand it (confirm with Andrew though!)

Marie Jeanette - thank you so much for sharing that! That really means a lot to me to hear that. :)

Oh, and I also appreciated the fact that, though he isn't in the book much, Fish made it in the movie quite a bit. I can't help being his fan...neither can the most of us. I had a good laugh over how it was not Blanche and Bear who were on the two menus of the DVD (as it is really more of THEIR story, after all) but Rose and Fish. ;) Thanks again!

Yes, once we cast our Fish I knew he needed more screentime. The glimpse of him at the school was something Regina and I worked out, and the parking garage scene is from the Audio drama.

Got my copy yesterday, and printed out the movie poster to make a nice cover for it (A Lone Ranger DVD was trashed so SOTB would have a nice case). Haven't watched it yet, as Mama said school and chores have to be done first. Can't wait to watch it!!!! Thanks SO much for making it!

Astounding and Beautiful!!!!! A five star movie, hands down! Each one of us has a personal idea of what the book depicts. Elizabeth brings out the vivid mystery of the story and the amazing acting makes miracles come to life right before our eyes!

Just watched the movie for the second time! OMG, Bear's acting was great, and Fish...just perfect! Mr. Freet was an awesome villain, and Blanche and Rose were great! Had a little bit of a problem with the dubbing of certain actors, but the lip sync was great. I was a little annoyed with Fish for swearing in the basement, but in that situation, I'd be surprised if I managed to not say anything myself. All in all, the movie was awesome!!!

Una - yeah, we had a hard time figuring out what to do with the swearing. In the book it says "Rose vaguely heard Fish cursing Freet" but in the movie we had to have him say /something/. We had a powwow and talked about what we could do without seriously offending people. It was hard because Fish has been out on the streets of New York for quite awhile and it's a really intense situation... we suspect he probably would have swore worse than you'll hear in the movie, but we dialed it down for your sakes! XD

Una Mariah said...

OK, thanks...I still don't believe Fish would say anything too bad though. Especially not with Rose in the room.

Interestingly, and by sheer coincidence, we actually had fish for lunch right after we watched the movie. Everyone else thought it was a great joke; cannibals! :)

Hey, how much longer will one be able to order? I still have to save up, and I'm having a REALLY busy couple weeks. :(

I am not involved with the DVD distribution apart from posting the information I get from Chesterton Press here. You'll need to direct that question to Andrew. :)
