Introducing....

Well, Regina was quite happy with the actors that I cast so...after the long wait...I finally have the pleasure of introducing you to five of the leads for "The Shadow of the Bear"! Eventually I hope to get a bio page up for each of them, but the pictures below should give you a nice taste of their looks and personalities.
I should note that these are all from the screen test which took place two weeks ago. At the time they had all been aware of the project for only about two or three weeks- it came together incredibly fast. Since we're not filming until November, none of them have their hair exactly the way it should be. Rose will have red hair, Rob black, Bear dark brown, Blanche black and Fish's will be longer.
Also, the pictures below are screen captures from the screen test footage. The quality is not the highest, and they are not "posed" so there are some blurry areas. But I think you'll get the idea.
First I would like to introduce Sharayah, who will be playing Rose, and Dave, who will be playing Rob.
Secondly we have Hannah, who is playing Blanche, and Jed who is playing Bear.
Blanche and Bear again (this is from the poetry scene- the beautiful one that almost made me cry ;)
And Anthony, who is playing Fish. (Love the brother conflict here!)
Rose and Fish....

I do have a few more screen captures that I may show you all as time passes...I hope to get better pictures of the actors themselves for the bios though.

And I do hope that you all love them!

LOL, and I agree with Blanche about dreadlocks being gross. ;) But there is something cool about them as well! And not to mention... it's Bear!!!!!!!!

Love them all! You can even tell them if you want!

oh my goodness gracious. They look amazing esp when you mentioned the change in hair colors. You actually found a Fish who worked(remember when we tried to find an actor, it was really hard)
I can't wait to see more from them. You did a great job Elena.

I am actually unsure about some of the actors looks, but then again I didn't like Ben Barnes (who was cast for Prince Caspian), but then I fell head over heel for him! Are you going to dye Hannah's hair black, or is she going to wear a wig? I'd like to see Bear's hair shorter, like at or a little bit above the shoulders. Can't wait for more pics! Could you possibly film some of it and post hem on here? I love clips!

Victoria-

That's all right. It would be weird if some of you weren't 100% sold on them yet. I actually, in some ways, like their voices even more, so I hope that when you actually hear them you'll like them better.

Hannah is probably going to be investing in a high quality wig. Like, the really high quality ones made from human hair. Actually, as long as it's realistic looking (which it has to be or she has to dye her hair) it will be easier from a continutity perspective than having to keep her own hair the same length for the 9 months of filming. I doubt Bear's hair will be shorter though. It helps make him looker bigger and more intimidating if it's longer, so I do like it at that length.

When we get footage in November/December I assume that I will make a brief theatrical trailer.

*coughs* I hadn't realized that the Bear/Fish photos was the "Take your hands off me big brother!" scene. It *coughs* looks like Bear is telling Fish to be careful!
Must be the view of Bear's face... and the way he has his hand. Yeah, it's the way he has his hand!

Just thought it was funny that I thought it was one of those "be careful" brother moments... and it turned out to be a "brother conflict" moment - like you said!

Haha, you should have seen his face a few frames before! But I liked Fish's expression in this one..."Get your paws off me, big brother," although we'll probably take the brother referances out.

Elena, I'm quite a bit late with this, but I want to say that I think you did a great job with the casting. It's impossible for an actor's looks to fit every person's mental image of the character, but even just from looking at the stills I get such a great impression... they all seem to have the attitude and atmosphere of their characters.

Continued prayers for you and your cast and crew.

I also want to say I love the hint of a beard Anthony's got. Seems definetly "Fishy." Hehe, I'm so punny! ;)

I'm having problems viewing these pictures. It might be my slow computer, but if it's not could someone give me a few pointers on how to see them? I would appresciate it very much.
From all the comments it looks like the pictures are well worth the wait.
